American Idol Kelly Clarkson's concert in Indonesia on April 29 will no longer be sponsored by the cigarette brand LA Lights.
THANK YOU to everyone who emailed her manager, posted on her Facebook fan page, created new protest sites of your own and tweeted about this. Your efforts convinced Kelly to refuse to let her concert be associated with a deadly and addictive product which kills 200,000 people in Indonesia each year.
Tobacco companies have long used the sponsorship of concerts popular with young people to promote its products and tobacco use among youth. Australian laws ban tobacco sponsorships of entertainment and sports events and other countries have similar bans - but not Indonesia!
