Dr. Jeff Wigand "The Insider"

Dr. Jeff Wigand achieved fame when he became the tobacco industry's highest ranking former executive to address public health and smoking issues. He exposed the truth to the public about the industry's disregard for health and safety during an interview with the TV show ‘60 Minutes' in 1994 and testified against the tobacco industry in a lawsuit conducted in Mississippi in 1995.

Australian actor Russell Crowe portrayed Dr. Jeff Wigand in the film "The Insider" that was released in 1999. The movie is an account of the events leading up to and surrounding Dr. Wigand's ‘60 Minutes' interview.
